“Nigeria, a failed country because of inability to plan for future” – APC Chieftain, Bisi Akande

Chairman Emeritus of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and an ally of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu and the Party’s pioneer national chairman Chief Bisi Akande, has disclosed that Nigeria is a failed nation because of the inability to plan for the future.

Akande, disclosed this at the weekend in Akure, the Ondo State capital during a lecture in honour of Chief Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, the pan Yoruba socio-political group to mark his 97th birthday.

Akande, the former governor of Osun State, who also blamed the underdevelopment in the country on the inability of successive governments to have development plan for critical sectors of the economy, said; we fail to plan and, yet, we are surprised that we fail in almost all sectors as we are all lapsing into generations of plan-less hypocrites.

Akande said the President of the country cannot be the sole agent of change and that all good patriots need to get involved and keep all hands on deck. He said Nigerians need to align modernity with their development.

He, however, blamed the love of foreign goods for the rate of unemployment and economic downturn in the country.
